Name: Piper
Age: 10 Months (Estimate)
Sex: Female
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier X
Ref number: 158
Personality:
Our sweet Piper unfortunately found herself in our care after being found as a stray but despite her rough start she’s made friends fast here at the ark and is now ready to find her forever family! Piper is still learning the world and her manners, so will need dedicated owners who will be prepared to put in the time and effort required of a puppy. Since arriving at the Ark she’s been a bundle of fun, affection and is always greeting people with a waggy tail – She has even been on her very best behaviour learning to keep calm and greet people with all four paws on the floor!
Behaviour:
Piper is still very much a bouncy and energetic puppy and as we have no information on what she will be like in the home, potential owners should be prepared to puppy proof and handle all the teething issues that come with having a young dog in the house! Piper has entered the mouthy stage that comes with puppyhood and will need adopters who are prepared to manage this safely in the home. We would recommend Piper is enrolled into some training classes so she can keep up with the training and socialisation she’s been doing since her arrival and post adoption support is available for up to 3 months.
Housing:
She cannot be rehomed to the Southampton area. Piper will need access to a private, secure garden and adopters should also be prepared to separate areas of the house as she settles in with the use of stair gates. Due to not knowing how Piper will be in a home we are looking for adopters who will be around most of the day as she will not be able to be left at home initially and whilst we believe she could learn to be left, adopters should be aware that this will need to be built up gradually.
Children/pets:
Due to having no history on her, Piper will need an adult only household and will also need to be the only pet in the home.
Vet history:
Piper is up to date with flea and worming but will need to return to the centre at a later date to be neutered (when she is old enough).
Additional information:
All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
