Chewie

Name: Chewie

Age: 6.5 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Boxer/Mixed Breed

Ref number: 150

Personality:
Chewie is gorgeous boy who came to us through no fault of his own and is now ready to find his forever family! He can be a little nervous to start at times but doesn’t take long to come round to new people and once he does he’s a bundle of fun with all the typical bonce of his breed!

Behaviour:
Chewie spends a lot of time on his walks with his nose to the ground and exploring the world, whilst he walks lovely on lead most of the time he does have a bit of a prey drive and is strong when he tries to pull after something! He has been doing very well learning to be calm and continue walking which can be handed over to any potential adopters. Chewie can also react to other dogs at times, he is doing well learning to keep walking and to ignore them when passing but this will need to be continued in the home. Chewie is really food motivated, making training very rewarding for the handler. He loves to engage with you and has come a long way since arriving with us. If you love a characteristic bully, then Chewie may be the dog for you!

Housing:
Cannot be rehomed to the SO50 area. He will also need access to a private and secure garden with ideally 5ft fencing. As we have limited history on Chewie he will need someone around whilst he settles into his new home and whilst we believe he could eventually learn to be left this would need to be built up gradually.

Children/pets:
Due to having limited history on Chewie he will need an adult only household where he will also be the only pet in the home!

Vet history:

Chewie is up to date on flea, worming and vaccinations. He will need to return to the centre after settling into his new home to be castrated.
Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
