Celia-Mae

Name: Celia-Mae

Age: 2 years

Sex: Female

Breed: Jack Russell Terrier/Poodle

Ref number: 101

Personality:
Celia-Mae is a sweet-natured little terrier that has not had the best start to life. She came to us from a multi-dog household with her three new born puppies. Celia-mae is now ready to find her forever home where she can receive the love and training she deserves.

Behaviour:
Although Celia-Mae can be a little nervous, she warms up very quickly to people. She enjoys a gentle fuss and to curl up on the sofa next to you. Celia Mae is currently in a foster home with children of secondary school age and really enjoys their company. She would do best in an active home, with a family that enjoy going out on long walks and are prepared to do some training with their new dog. Celia finds fast moving objects (such as cyclists and cars) quite over-whelming and she may lunge and bark towards these if she is walked too close. Celia is a typical terrier and does have a high prey drive, and can become fixated in a garden at trying to find birds and squirrels. Her current foster family are doing really well at managing this but it is paramount that Celia has a fully enclosed garden as she will quite happily hop over a fence that isn’t quite 6ft. Celia gets on well with other dogs and enjoys walking with them.

Housing:
Celia-Mae is still learning to walk on lead so will need to be homed to a quiet location, with a private garden so she can explore and build her confidence in her own time. Celia-mae can be left for about an hour currently but this will need to be built up slowly in her new home as she previously found it difficult to settle on her own.

Children/pets:
Celia-Mae can live with other dogs, pending successful meetings here at the shelter. She also cannot live with cats or small animals. Celia-Mae needs a quiet home but could live with secondary age children.

Vet history:
Celia-Mae is up to date with flea, worming and vaccinations. She will need to be returned to the shelter for her spay once she has settled. Celia-Mae has a luxating patella but is currently showing no clinical signs.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.
