Personality:
Drew has settled into our care well and has quickly become a staff and volunteer favourite. He is an affectionate boy who loves having human company. He is a little unsure of the different noises in and around the cattery but is becoming braver within his unit each day. He hasn’t shown a playful side currently however was described as playful in his previous home.
Behaviour:
Drew often doesn’t take long to come out of his bed to get some fuss and will initiate this by headbutting your hand and will follow with a roll so that he can lean into the head scratches. Once he gets to know you, he will jump onto your lap and does sometimes climb your chest to make sure he still gets the attention. He doesn’t stop paddy-pawing and now that he is more confident in his surroundings he is starting to follow staff and rub around their legs as they’re getting up to leave.
Housing:
Drew does prefer the safety of his carrier and finds new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason he would benefit from his own unused room to initially settle in for the first few days before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in Southampton so18 area.
Children/pets:
Drew could live with secondary school aged children who will give him time to settle into his new home. Drew cannot live with other cats or dogs.
Vet history:
Drew is neutered, microchipped, flea and wormed. His second vaccination is due between 17/07/25 – 23/07/25 at the shelter and the cost is included in the adoption fee. Drew has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
Additional information:
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
