Chestnut

Name: Chestnut

Age: 2 years approx

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 69

Personality:
Chestnut is a very sensitive boy who has struggled with adjusting to the noises within the cattery environment. He can be affectionate once he feels comfortable around you and is relaxed to be within your company until he feels ready to initiate contact. Chestnut will give a few hisses whilst staff are entering his unit but once they have sat down, he feels safe to be his loving self.

Behaviour:
Chestnut is often in his covered hide where he feels safest. He prefers being socialised when it is really quiet in the cattery as he is wary of external noises. Once he gets to know you, he will come over and usually give a headbutt on your hand to initiate some gentle strokes. He likes to relax nearby within your company and roll around with his toys if they have catnip spray on them. He is beginning to jump onto staff members’ laps and will curl himself into their hands and sometimes nudge around their face. Due to his nervous nature, he would benefit from a calm household and for his new owners to be patient whilst he adjusts to his new environment.

Housing:
Chestnut does prefer the safety of his carrier/igloo bed and finds new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason he would need his own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in Bognor Regis Po22.

Children/pets:
Chestnut could live with older aged secondary school children who will be understanding of his nervous nature. Chestnut will need to be an only pet.

Vet history:
Chestnut is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Chestnut came into us with a cat bite abscess which he has had treatment for and has recovered well from.  Chestnut has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £100. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
