Name: Nico
Age: 1 year 9 months approx
Sex: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Ref number: 37

Personality:
Nico hasn’t had the best start in life, coming into our care from a massive multi cat household of over 50 cats. He found the cattery environment quite stressful and spent most of his time hiding away, although he would be very active at night once the staff had gone home. Nico has been lucky enough to spend time in an amazing foster home where he has become much more relaxed and enjoys human companionship.

Behaviour:
Nico had his own room to initially settle in and a good routine was provided by his foster mum to help Nico feel at home. It didn’t take long for him to grow in confidence and want to explore his temporary home. Nico has created a lovely bond with his foster mum and loves nothing more than being in the same room as her, even following her wherever she goes. This could also be because he’s quite a nosy boy, sometimes getting up as high as possible so he knows exactly what’s going on! Nico has started showing his playful side, happily playing with toys by himself, or once he trusts you he will interact with toys with you. His favourite thing to do is to find the sunny spot to lounge in and watch all the birds and squirrels outside, he cant wait to have a garden to explore and call his own. Whilst Nico enjoys the company of his foster mum he prefers sitting with a little distance and currently does not want to be touched, this may come in time with a patient and calm owner but only if he initiates this.

Housing:
Nico finds new surroundings and environments a little scary at first, so for this reason he will need his own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. He cannot be homed in Portsmouth (PO6 area). 3 months post adoption support will be provided by our onsite behaviourist.

Children/pets:
Nico needs to be an only pet in an adult only home.

Vet history:
Nico is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.
