Oscar

Name: Oscar

Age: 4 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Labrador Retriever

Ref number: 51

Personality:
Oscar is an amazing boy! His soppy Labrador face makes us smile every time we see him. Oscar has sadly come into our care due to his owner’s ill health and due to no fault of his own. He is a lovely boy who loves his training and walks! He can be a little worried at times but he recovers super quickly and has made great progress with training in place. He loves his toys (especially footballs!) and a swim too.

Behaviour:
Oscar is very responsive to positive reinforcement training and thrives when working with his owners. He can be worried about new people but warms to them very quickly with a tasty treat and has a big human social circle. Oscar is eager to hop in the car for an adventure and he walks very well on his lead and harness. He is kept on lead currently when in public and would benefit from being walked in quieter areas. Oscar can find other dogs a bit too much at times and he can bark and lunge if they are too close. Having said that, he has coped in a group training class setting, but he needs adopters that are interested and willing to carry on with his training. Oscar is a real superstar with lots of Labrador love to give!

Housing:
Oscar is looking for an adult only home or a home with older teenagers only. He will need his own secure garden.

Children/pets:
Oscar is looking to be the only dog in the household and he cannot live with a cat. We think he could live with small furies as long as they were not free roaming.

Vet history:
Oscar is currently on medication to help him with his anxieties. We would like Oscar to settle into his new home before we consider weaning him off this so new adopters must be open to this as an on-going cost. He has been flea/wormed and had his first vaccination. He is castrated.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal
