Zorro

Name: Zorro

Age: 2 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Collie X

Ref number: 100

Personality:
Zorro is a smart agile boy who loves to train/ play and cuddle with his human friends. He responds well to training using food and toys as rewards. Zorro likes other dogs and has lived with a well matched collie X boy before. He likes most toys but he LOVES his balls. Zorro really enjoys a run around and play a game with his human friends. He jumps into your arms for a fuss and is great fun to spend time with.

Behaviour:
Zorro is smart and active. He would flourish with positive reinforcement training and would possibly be a good companion for dog sports like canicross or agility. He will need to be introduced to new people at a pace he is comfortable with. This will take several meetings as he needs to build up trust and handling slowly. Adopters should ideally have an understanding of canine body language, or have enthusiasm to learn with the guidance from our behaviour team. Zorro is a little worried about getting into the car but is doing well with training, this will need to be continued in the home. He will need to be able to be walked straight from the house while he is learning to get into the car. Regular trips in the car are not an option at this stage. He is fully muzzle trained and will need to wear a muzzle if he is walking through busy places and possibly at the vet.

Housing:
Zorro would like to live in an adult only household. Ideally in a quiet home with owners who have an interest in dog training/ behaviour. He would be a great match for an active home. Zorro will needs his own garden with 6 foot fences.

Children/pets:
Zorro cannot live with children. However he could live with another well matched dog, if the family were experienced in multi dog situations and had the means to separate for periods while Zorro is settling in. This would be pending successful meets at the centre. Zorro cannot live with cats.

Vet history:
Zorro has no outstanding medical conditions, he is fully vaccinated, flead, wormed and will  be brought back to be castrated once he is settled in to his new home.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
