Name: Winter
Age: 5 years
Sex: Male
Breed: Lurcher/Saluki
Ref number: 144
Personality:
Our sweet boy Winter didn’t arrive with us in the best condition however he’s been amazing throughout his vet visits and won over many hearts since his arrival at the Ark. He loves his time out of the kennel exploring with his friends and walks lovely on the lead but he does also enjoy a run to let off some steam every now and again!
Behaviour:
We have limited history on Winter and because of this we know little of what he will be like in his new home, however since his arrival we have found Winter to be a gentle boy with a lot of love to bring to his new family. Like most sighthounds Winter does have a high prey drive and can occasionally pull towards wildlife and cats! Whilst he is very interested in them he’s been doing really well moving on and calming down quickly which adopters can continue encouraging in the home. Winter is generally a laid back boy who enjoys the quiet side of life. He has settled well into kennels but is really excited to have a home to call his own.
Housing:
Cannot be rehomed to the Horsham area. Will need access to a private and secure garden with 6ft fencing! Ideally no visiting cats to the garden.
Children/pets:
Due to our limited history on Winter he will need an adult only household and as he has a high prey drive Winter cannot be homed with cats or any small animals. He could live with another older calm sighthound pending successful meets here at the centre.
Vet history:
Winter is up to date on flea, worming and vaccinations. Whilst he has no pre-existing conditions he was quite underweight on his arrival at the Ark along with sore skin which he has done well to gain back and improve. This can be continued in his new home and he will also need to return to site once he’s settled into his new home to be castrated.
