Name: Sid and Manny
Age: 9 months
Sex: Male
Breed: Guinea Pigs
Ref number: 25 + 26
Personality:
Manny and Sid are slightly on the shyer side, unless it’s cleaning or food time! When cleaning their enclosure they get very excited and will do lots of popcorning! You will often see this pair snuggled in their hides together or in a hay pile munching on hay.
Behaviour:
When these two boys came into our care they were very nervous around sudden movements or noises. But have since grown in confidence, both will now come out to greet you around meal times to see what tasty food you have. They will need a family that can take things slow and build their trust when handling and socialising them. We would recommend at least one meet with them, where their requirements can be discussed further with staff.
Housing:
Manny and Sid are looking for a minimum of a 6ft x 2ft enclosure. They could either be housed indoors, such as with a C&C pen, or they could be housed outdoors with a large shed. Housing can be discussed with staff, and they could be bonded with other female guinea pigs, but enclosure size will need to accommodate the amount of piggies in the group.
Children/pets:
They can live around other pets, but to be kept separately. They can also live with older primary school aged children (8-11 years) and above. All young children should be supervised when handling Guinea pigs.
Vet history:
Sid and Manny are castrated and have no current health problems.
