Scruffy

Name: Scruffy

Age: 2 years

Sex: Female

Breed: Shih Tzu/Pug

Ref number: 140

Personality:
Scruffy is a sweet cuddly lap dog who loves a fuss and playing with toys. She can be nervous at first but has formed some strong bonds with staff here at the centre and is a huge character for a little dog. Although she is nervous she is very tolerant of handling, both at the vets and when being groomed. When she trusts you she is confident and happy to go on adventures.

Behaviour:
Scruffy may take a little bit of time to build her confidence with new people, but once that bond is formed she is an amazing and funny little girl. She would make a wonderful companion for someone who has patience and is able to take things slowly.

Housing:
Due to her being a little nervous Scruffy would benefit from some private outside space so she doesn’t have to go for walks straight away. She cannot be rehomed to the PO2 area.

Children/pets:
Scruffy has lived with children before so we believe she could live with them again if they are prepared to give her space when needed. She cannot live with cats due to wanting to chase them but could live with small animals kept separately. Scruffy has not been socialised with other dogs and can be reactive on lead. With time and training we believe Scruffy would enjoy being around other dogs but to start with she will need to be the only dog in the home.

Vet history:
Scruffy is fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming, she will need to return to the centre to be spayed.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
