Name: Roo
Age: 1 year and 8 months old
Sex: Male
Breed: Jack Russel terrier x
Ref number: 116

Personality:
Roo is a super switched on little terrier, he loves training and playing with his balls. He can be worried around strangers especially if they go to touch him but once he has warmed up (and perhaps had a snack from you!) he quickly relaxes and enjoys human company. We are really excited to find this smashing terrier a fantastic home, he has so much potential!

Behaviour:
Although Roo gets easily distracted – he does learn very quickly, and enjoys learning tricks. We have fully muzzle trained Roo and he will need to wear his muzzle on his walks at all times, due to being uncomfortable with strangers. Once Roo has warmed up to you, he is a super affectionate and cuddly boy who makes all the staff laugh. He is a little terrier with a big personality. If you are looking for a dog to do agility or other activities, then Roo could be the dog for you!

Housing:
Roo is known to be an escape artist so he would require a stairgate so he couldn’t run out the front door. He would benefit from a private garden with no visiting cats, as he has quite a high prey drive. Although Roo is dog friendly and can walk alongside another calm dog he enjoys his own space so he will need to be the only dog in the property.

Children/pets:
Roo cannot live with children or any other animals. He will need to be the only pet in the house. We do not know how Roo will cope being left on his own, however, we feel after some time, he could learn to be left on his for short periods.

Vet history:
Roo is up to date with his vaccinations and his flea and worm treatment. He will also need to return to the shelter once settled in his new home to be castrated. Roo can be uncomfortable at the vets so his muzzle will need to be worn.
