Pixie

Name: Pixie

Age: Unknown

Sex: Female

Breed: Ringneck Parakeet

Ref number: 2

Personality:
This is Pixie, a curious and inquisitive Parakeet, who can take a bit of time to adjust to her new surroundings, but once finding her feet she takes any opportunity to stretch her wings or to enjoy a nibble at some veg in her enrichment feeders!

Behaviour:
Pixie previously was an indoor bird in a small cage. However, since being in our care she has been provided with a much larger space all to herself, where she has proven she has great flying abilities. She isn’t keen on close interaction with people, and requires a calm and patient approach.

Housing:
Pixie is looking for a large outdoor aviary, where it is spacious enough for her to fly and with a heated indoor section, due to her history. She is also seeking a male ringneck parakeet to live with. Size of the aviary can be discussed with staff. You must also be registered as a bird keeper with DEFRA.

Children/pets:
Pixie can live with all aged children, but must have adult supervision if interacting with the birds. Plus, they are able to live around other pets but to be kept separately.

Vet history:
Pixie currently has no medical issues.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £40. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the bird.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
