Peanut

Name: Peanut

Age: 1 year

Sex: Male

Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier X

Ref number: 65

Personality:
Peanut is a bundle of fun and energy who has done well settling in and making friends since his arrival at the Ark. He is a fun boy who is great at learning. He loves his walks, a fuss with his favourite people and has even made a few doggy friends! He is a bouncy boy and likes to jump up when playing at the moment, he is doing well with his training but will need relatively robust humans to live with. He came to us with very little history, he is a little wary to start when first meeting people but if people ignore him he relaxes quickly.

Behaviour:
Peanut ideal adopters will have some knowledge of dog body language to help know when Peanut is feeling uncomfortable. He can be a little strong on lead at times though is doing well learning to walk nicely, he will need adopters who will be able to handle him but are also interested in keeping up his training once he’s settled into his new home. Peanut also has quite a high prey drive and will chase a bird or cat if given the opportunity! He is dong really well with his training and loves to learn but will be best suited to someone who is interested in carrying this on.

Housing:
Peanut would benefit from a private and secure garden. We have no history on how Peanut is in a home so will need someone around whilst he first settles in but believe he could gradually learn to be left. Potential adopters will need to be able to offer Peanut his own space, for example with the use of a stair gate.

Children/pets:
Peanut has a high prey drive and so cannot live with cats or small animals. He could however live with a similar size and energy dog pending successful meets here at the centre. Due to being a little worried around people Peanut will need an adult only home with limited visitors.

Vet history:
Peanut is castrated and up to date on flea, worming and vaccinations.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.
