Personality:
Mickey, Donald and Goofy are bundles of energy! They are such fun to watch, leaping from their platforms or having a roll about in their sand. Forage is a favourite of theirs, where they will be all over you!
Behaviour:
The boys were fortunate to receive plenty of positive handling and interaction from a young age in their previous home, and so all have their own level of confidence, some more than others. Goofy and Mickey in particular can be a bit shy but in their own time, will come over for handling with reassurance.
Housing:
They are looking for a large enclosure with plenty of enriching levels and natural resources to encourage their behaviours. Sizes of the enclosure and what it requires can be discussed with staff. We would consider rehoming with other degus, this can be discussed with the staff.
Children/pets:
These degus can live with children of primary school age and up, but young children must be supervised if interacting/handling them. They could live around other pets, but should be kept separately.
Vet history:
The boys have no current medical issues. The boys are not neutered.
Additional information:
All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the Degus.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
