Name: Marmaduke
Age: 10 months
Sex: Male
Breed: Mixed breed
Ref number: 157
Personality:
This is Marmaduke, an American Bulldog Cross, he is an absolute joy and the wiggliest boy in all the land who loves to sit on your lap. He has tons of love to give a human family and he would like to make friends with suitably matched dogs outside the home.
Behaviour:
We don’t know much about Marmadukes past but while he has been with us at the centre he has been a really lovely lad. He is strong boy and will need a capable strong human to go on walks with. He is a little nervous on his walks and he can let out a few barks when he sees something that he is unsure about, but he really enjoys his food and will love to continue his lead training and confidence building. He has shown some typical ‘Bully’ traits and can get over excited at times so would benefit from having an experienced or confident family that will take our direction on the best way to manage him.
Housing:
As he is a young energetic dog, Marmaduke will need a private enclosed garden where he can let off steam and will also need 2 walks each day in a relatively quiet area. As we have no history for how Marmaduke is at home, we are looking for a family that can be around most of the time while he learns to be left alone so will need someone to be with him all the time at first and slowly increase the time he is able to be left.
Children/pets:
Due to having limited information on Marmadukes’ history we are looking for an adult only home , however, we would consider a home with secondary school age children who are used to large bull breeds and understand or are willing to learn dog body language. Due to his size and playful nature, Marmaduke cannot live with cats or small animals. He is sociable but unsure around other dogs and so we are looking for a home with no other dogs but he would love well matched walking companions.
Vet history:
He is fully vaccinated, up to date with flea and worming treatment and will need to return to the centre at the appropriate time to be castrated.
