Due to the number of applications we have received, we will not be accepting applications that are more than a one hour drive away from the Ark.
Name: Malfoy
Age: 6 weeks
Sex: Male
Breed: Mixed Breed
Ref number: 71
Personality:
Let us introduce you to the Cemetery puppies. These sweet boys have not had the best start to life after being found at four days old in a shoe box in a Cemetery. These puppies have been hand raised by our wonderful team of staff and volunteers. Due to a traumatic start in life and being raised without a mum, these boys can be quite nervous of new situations. We are looking for dedicated adopters who are prepared to put in the time and effort it takes when raising a puppy but who are also sensitive to the fact that they can be a little nervous. Ideally adopters will have experience with larger breed dogs.
Behaviour:
Malfoy has lived with his brother Draco since coming to the centre. He is a sweet natured, playful but nervous boy. He enjoys playing tug, having cuddles and running around the house. Malfoy can be nervous in new situations and with new things he needs to be introduced slowly so he does not get worried. When Malfoy gets worried or overwhelmed he likes to take himself to his safe space, so an area will need to be created in the home where he can feel safe.
Housing:
He will not be able to be left alone at all initially, and will need someone home at all times to begin with. Then he will need gradual exposure to being left alone. Malfoy will need to have access to a safe place like a crate or pen. They will need access to a private, secure garden.
Please do not apply for this puppy if you are not in a position to adopt in 2 weeks time. We will not process applications with holidays approaching.
Children/pets:
Malfoy can be rehomed with Children 12+, these puppies are mouthy and nippy, so this should be considered before applying. He can also live with a dog savvy cat or a calm dog that would be comfortable with a puppy.
Vet history:
All puppies are flea, wormed and microchipped. They have had their first vaccination and will need to return to the shelter for their 3rd vaccination at 10 weeks old and neutering (when they are old enough)
PLEASE NOTE WE WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY APPLICATIONS UNTIL THE PUPPIES ARE 8 WEEKS OLD. 15/08/25
Additional information:
All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.
