Name: Luna
Age: 4 Years (approx)
Sex: Female
Breed: Shar-Pei
Ref number: 29/25

Personality:
Our cheeky shar-pai Luna is looking for a home to call her own. She enjoys her home comforts and will often take herself off to bed in the evenings when she is tired. She is always up for going on an adventure and loves the car however can be strong on lead. She enjoys playing with her toys and interacting with her human friends and despite her strict diet, she loves her enrichment and meal times. Luna has been in foster for 4 weeks and has thrived being in a home environment and has been described as being a princess that is excellent at communicating what she wants.

Behaviour:
Luna has been in foster and has been described to be a very lovely and sweet girl who has been easy to care for and very affectionate. She is very friendly with most people although can be a little unsure of men on occasion. She does not like other dogs and cannot be socialised with them, she will walk past at a safe distance (the other side of the road for example) without reacting but will lunge and bark if they get too close. She is very foody and will counter serf if given half a chance and has shown some guarding behaviours around her food however this has only happened a couple of occasions. Advice and guidance will be available from our behaviour team to support Luna in her new home. If you are looking for a fun, energetic and goofy shar-pei who will make you laugh, and you don’t mind staying away from other dogs, Luna is the girl for you.

Housing:
Luna would benefit from a private enclosed garden where she can feel safe and let off steam. Is left for 1-2 hours in her foster home so should be ok to be left from short periods once settled.

Children/pets:
Luna cannot live with other animals and although she has previously lived with young children, would be better suited to an adult only home or a home with kids of secondary school age.

Vet history:
Luna has some allergies that requires her to be on a specialist diet and medication. Her allergies can make her skin sore and dry and she requires regular bathing to help this. Other than her allergies, there have been no concerns regarding Lunas health. Further details can be provide to any potential adopters. Luna is fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment.
