RSPCA Solent Branch CIO (known as RSPCA The Ark) is an independent branch of the RSPCA, and a separately registered charity.
We are responsible for raising all our own funds to keep our animal centre, The Stubbington Ark, up and running.
It costs approximately £1.4 million per year to operate the RSPCA Solent Branch CIO.
Approximately 50% of our income comes from legacy and gift in wills donations. These are a lifeline for us, and we would not be able to carry out our crucial animal welfare work without this generous support.
You can leave a legacy by making a will or by adding a Codicil. If you’re making a will, please remember that the RSPCA Solent Branch CIO is a separately registered charity. You can write your will for free with The Goodwill Partnership, read on below for more information.
So, if you would like our work to benefit animals in your local area, we would respectfully suggest that your legacy reads:
I give the sum of £… (or specify a share of residue) to the RSPCA Solent Branch CIO, Registered Charity Number 1208430, for its general purpose and I declare that the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer of the said Branch, for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge for said legacy.
We all know the importance of writing a Will, which is why we have partnered up with The Goodwill Partnership to give you the opportunity to write your will for FREE.
The Goodwill Partnership provides a unique free Home-Visit appointment service to all postcodes in England and Wales. Their friendly trained staff will visit you at home and carefully take your Will instructions.
There’s no obligation to leave a gift to RSPCA The Ark, but if you love animals as much as we do, we hope you’ll think of us once the people closest to you are taken care of.

If you’ve lost someone who had a lifelong love of animals, you can honour their memory with an in-memoriam donation to RSPCA Solent Branch CIO.
This is a kind gift to commemorate their life, and to let their love of animals live on.
Your donation will be used to rehabilitate and care for vulnerable animals at our centre.
For more information about in-memoriam donations please contact: beccidenizhan@rspcasolent.org.uk.
