Lady

Name: Lady

Age: Approximately 2 years

Sex: Female

Breed: German Shepherd

Ref number: 1

Personality:
Hello there, I’m Lady and now that I have gained some confidence I am ready to find my forever home. My human friends tell me I’m a sweet natured girl with lots of potential, I find comfort in being close to people in a quiet area and I can’t wait to find somewhere safe to rest after being in kennels. I may take a little time to trust people but also really love a tasty treat which helps me to make friends. I love a good run around in a secure field and enjoy a calm walk and will amble along by your side. I don’t yet know how to play with toys but over time I would love for you to teach me.

Behaviour:
I am finding the kennel environment stressful and am frightened of the loud noises. It’s taken me some time to trust new people, this means anyone who wants to adopt me will need to have patience and be prepared to meet me several times before taking me home. I am a little unsure of dogs and will need gradual introduction but I don’t bark or pull.

A note from our behaviour team – ‘Lady is a beautiful, but shy shepherd. It will be an incredibly rewarding journey for her new family to continue her rehabilitation. She finds hands on affection worrying, but is learning to love it through trust and building relationships slowly.’

Housing:
I will need a home who has experience with my breed and understands my needs. I need a secure outside space where I can have a run around and feel safe. Please could it be a quiet home with not too many visitors so I can gradually gain confidence and not feel overwhelmed. I cannot be rehoused to the Birmingham area.

Children/pets:
I would need to live in an adult only home with no dogs, I could potentially live with small animals kept separately.

Vet history:
I am fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
