Name: Hope
Age: 10 months
Sex: Female
Breed: Mixed Breed
Ref number: 113
Personality:
Hope is our wonderful gentle giant puppy, she was severely underweight when she arrived but has been slowly gaining weight and is now very excited to find her forever home. Hope can be a little nervous at first but it doesn’t take long before she is leaning in for cuddles and making everyone she meets fall in love with her, she is very affectionate and playful, loves her toys and is very foody which makes her a joy to train.
Behaviour:
When Hope first arrived at the centre she was very nervous and didn’t want to venture far from her kennel, she was wary of new people and found walks scary due to being under socialised. In a relatively short time she has made tremendous progress and is gaining confidence daily but will still occasionally bark at people and things that worry her. It is important that whoever adopts Hope is prepared to have patience and understands that she may need to be introduced to new people and experiences slowly.
Housing:
Hope will need a private enclosed garden where she can let off steam and feel safe. She struggles to settle when left so will need someone to be around most of the time at first who can gradually build up the length of time she is left. She cannot be rehomed to the Havant area and would benefit from living in a quiet home with not too many visitors. If you have the time and space for Hope she will make a wonderful companion for her new home.
Children/pets:
We don’t have very much information on Hopes history so we are looking for a home with adults only, however we would consider a home with Children of secondary school age who are committed to learning and understanding dog body language and are confident with big dogs. She should be the only animal in the home due to her not being comfortable sharing her toys but she has been walking with other dogs here and would love to continue that once settled in the home.
Vet history:
Hope is on a weight gain plan and is currently on 5 meals a day, it is important that any adopter continues this to ensure she continues to gain weight. She is fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment and will need to return to the centre to be spayed when she is old enough.
