Edgar

Name: Edgar

Age: 4-5 years approx

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 29

Personality:
Edgar came into our care after being a stray for a couple of years. Since being with us it is clear to see he is quite fearful of people and will often hide away from them or he will move away to create distance. He cannot wait to be able to enjoy the outside world again to come and go as he pleases with someone looking out for him from afar.

Behaviour:
Edgar will spend most of time hiding away in his carrier but is much happier to explore his surroundings at night when it is quiet and no one is around. As time goes on he is starting to feel a little more confident in his surroundings and will come out for food during the day.

Housing:
Due to Edgar being a long term stray, it is unlikely he has had much positive interaction with people, for this reason he will need a safe, secure, sheltered outbuilding or shed. This can be in a spacious garden/farm land/stables or an alternative similar set up. His adopters will need to use a hands off approach and either live onsite or visit the site at least twice a day to provide him with his essentials such as fresh food and water. It may be that he will prefer to live permanently like this but he may gradually build trust with his owners and surroundings and choose to live a more conventional lifestyle in a home.

Children/pets:
In his previous area and before he was neutered, Edgar had been known to have a few scraps with cats for for food, for this reason he would need to be the only cat in the immediate vicinity. Considerations can be made for adopters with other pets depending on space and individual circumstances. Edgar will need to be cared for by adults only and if children are onsite, they should be supervised at all times.

Vet history:

Edgar is neutered, microchipped, flea and wormed. He will be fully vaccinated before he is adopted. Edgar has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £50. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
