Name: Coco Pops
Age: 1 year
Sex: Male
Breed: Labrador Retriever/Spaniel
Ref number: 148
Personality:
Hello there, I’m Coco Pops and I am full of beans and a bundle of fun, I love being around people and although I’m a little unsure of other dogs I have been walking with my calm doggy friends here and am gaining confidence daily. I love a good run around and a game of fetch and there’s nothing I like more than a tasty treat which apparently makes training me a delight because my people keep telling me I’m a good boy. I am finding it a little stressful in the kennel and can’t wait to find my new forever home.
Behaviour:
I can be a little nervous at times so if you meet me please allow me to come and sniff you thoroughly before you say hello, once I have completed my full nose analysis I will very quickly become your best friend. I was a little skinny when I first arrived and am very hungry so have occasionally felt I needed to protect my very high value food, this has only been with my kong but I will need a home where I am allowed a safe space to eat and ideally with someone who has the understanding and time to help me gain confidence and feel safe.
Housing:
I am a very high energy dog so would benefit from a garden where I can let off steam. I would really benefit from ongoing training and a consistent routine with enough space so I can move away from things that worry me in the home. I get quite sad when you leave me so I will need someone around most of the time at first until I can learn it’s ok to be on my own. I cannot be rehomed to the PO2 area.
Children/pets:
I would prefer a quiet home but could live with secondary school age children who are prepared to be involved with my training. I cannot live with cats and should be the only dog in the home but would love to make friends with other calm dogs on my walks.
Vet history:
My vet tells me I am a healthy chap, I’m full vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment. They also tell me I have to come back here for something called castration.
