Bartlett

Name: Bartlett

Age: 2 years approx

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Ref number: 37

Personality:
Bartlett hasn’t had the best start in life, coming into our care from a massive multi cat household of over 50 cats, so it is likely he has had very little, if any, human interaction. He found the cattery environment quite stressful and spent most of his time hiding away, although he would be very active at night once the staff had gone home. Bartlett was lucky enough to spend time in an amazing foster home where he became slightly more relaxed around humans but it soon became clear that he was desperate to be able to enjoy what the outside world has to offer again and come and go as he pleases.

Behaviour:
Bartlett had his own room to initially settle in, and a good routine was provided by his foster mum to help him feel at home. He did grow in confidence in his time in a foster home but would always choose to remain at a safe distance to ensure he had choice and control over his environment. Bartlett was often sat in the sunny spot or at the patio door wishing to be back outside where he feels happiest so he can thrive in the environment he is used to.

Housing:
As Bartlett is not a typical pet cat he is looking for an alternative lifestyle where his boundaries will be respected and with a hands off approach. He is looking for either a shed or summer house in a garden, or a more commercial environment ie, a garden centre, stables or farm. He cannot be homed in Portsmouth (PO6 area) or Southampton (SO19 area). 3 months post adoption support will be provided by our onsite behaviourist.

Children/pets:
Bartlett will need to be cared for by adults only but could live at distance to children. He needs to be the only cat in his environment as he has been territorial in the past. He could live around other animals with the right set up.

Vet history:
Bartlett is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £50. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

All rented and leasehold properties will require written consent from the property owner or agent. This needs to be in place before completing an application form. If your application is successful, staff will request a copy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal.
