Roxy

Name: Roxy

Age: Mature

Sex: Female

Breed: Pug

Ref number: 98

Personality:
Roxy is a sweet girl with a lot of love to give, she’s always excited to see her people and may even greet you with a little song! Despite her age she still has a spring in her step and enjoys her time out on walks, sniffing and exploring things at her own pace.

Behaviour:
Roxy has been very well behaved during her time here at the Ark especially for vet visits and her regular baths! She can find dogs who are playful or enthusiastic too much at times and we have found that whilst she can walk alongside calmer dogs she doesn’t seek out contact with them. Roxy does have a high prey drive and will chase a cat or bird if given the opportunity!

Housing:
Roxy would benefit from a quieter home with a secure garden for her to explore. We have limited information on what Roxy was like being left in her previous home due to this she will need someone around whilst she first settles in and could be built up to being left for a couple of hours. Cannot be rehomed to the PO9 area.

Children/pets:
Due to her high prey drive and finding other dogs too much she would need to be the only pet in the home. She could live with children of all ages and whilst we believe she would be happy around young children they should still be supervised at all times.

Vet history:
Roxy has been spayed, is fully vaccinated and up to date on flea and worming. Roxy has mild hip dysplasia alongside
possible early osteoarthritis and adopters should be aware that it is likely this will not be covered by insurance. She has
suffered from an ear infection previously with ear cleaning still happening regularly which she is very tolerant of however adopters would also need to check with insurers to see if any future ear problems would be covered. Roxy has an undershot jaw which does not appear to be causing her any issues however it may be helpful for adopters to try and regularly clean her teeth.

Adoption fee:
The adoption fee is £180. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Additional information:

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Due to the high number of applications we receive daily, regrettably we will only be able to contact the successful applicant.

Please note you have to be 18+ to apply for an animal
