Rehoming – Profile

History:

Morgan was signed over in March due to her previous owner not being able to care for her.

Behaviour observations on site:

Morgan is such a sweet, sensitive girl who has made incredible progress since arriving with us. She takes her time making friends with new people but once she has gained your trust, she is your best friend. She has really come out of her shell and is starting to show us her playful side!

Morgan is generally nervous around handling, and finds vet visits frightening, she does tend to tolerate it well but shows all the signs of being a little stressed. Due to her breed and having long hair, Morgan will need regular grooming to stop her fur from matting (she was extremely matted when she arrived with us) She seems to enjoy being brushed but clippers and scissors are more frighting, and she will run away and cower. We have started doing work here at the shelter to desensitise her to grooming, but this will need to be continued in the home.

Morgan can be nervous of her harness being applied, so it’s important that her owners are willing to take things slowly with her and continue her training. Generally, out on a walk, Morgan is happy to explore her surroundings and loves being outside. She enjoys her walks and sniffing in long grass, but fast passing cars and load noises can frighten her so we would recommend she is walked in quieter areas.

Once Morgan has bonded with someone, she is the sweetest girl who loves cuddles and affection. She would quite happily sit next to you on the sofa (in between long walks!)

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Medical history:

Morgan has had a cherry eye (prolapse of the third eye lid) in the past, the vet team have operated on her eye to repair this. New adopters should be aware that this could come back, and it will need surgery to repair it if it does. It will now not be covered by insurance. Morgan is spayed.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Cannot be rehomed to Crawley, West Sussex.

Adoption fee: Minimum donation of £180.
