Rehoming – Profile
Bella was brought into us by inspectors as she was in an unsuitable home environment.
Behaviour observations on site:
Bella is an incredibly intelligent girl, who is seeking a working type home. She is a friendly girl who enjoys gentle massages, rolling around on the grass and food! One thing she loves is using her nose and playing games that involve sniffing. She is highly driven by food, so searching games allow her to use her brain and calm her down.
She is happy to meet both dogs and people, and when done gradually, she is generally calm when doing so. Bella walks very well on a loose lead, however she can pull towards other dogs, cats and squirrels. When this happens she is very strong, so requires a capable handler. She is quick to pick up training and has learned many skills here at the centre. Bella does very well with guidance and loves being given a job to do!
Bella has a busy mind, and can become over-excited and mouth her handler. We have directed this energy onto other things, as to teach her an appropriate outlet for her energy. Her training is on-going, but with the correct handler and positive reinforcement, Bella is an amazing dog and will make an incredible partner. We are therefore searching for an experienced home, in particular someone that has experience with working with dogs in the following fields; search and detection work, agility, and any other job you feel may be relevant.
Bella has a very high prey drive and so can not live with or near small furries/ livestock/ cats.
Bella will need an experienced home to settle down into.
Adoption fee: £180 If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
Medical history:
Bella is neutered, fully vaccinated, flea and wormed.
She has an occasional sore ear. She has learned to have her ears cleaned at the centre which her new home will need to continue.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
